Seriously, this book kind of tells us that we control our lives and can act to enhance the quality of that life. Pretty simple message I drew from the list of proactive things the stressed out reader consider.
Very welcome to read a book which takes a natural approach to reducing stress. It's often too easy to just pop some pills and to ignore the warning signs of stress. The beauty of this book is that you can dip into it to find maybe just a couple of tips which might, when built into your lifestyle, make a difference...You don't have to use them all. A good compendium of some well known remedies as well a few original and surprising suggestions.
This is a very thorough reference work on how to cut down stress in your life. Strangely, I actually found the act of reading Top Tips, very de-stressing. The style of writing is light and engaging and I learnt a lot of easy ways to reduce the stress that I have in my own life. The book benefits from an holistic approach to the subject. As we are bombarded from all sides, our responses need to be similarly multi-layered. I particularly liked the reminders in the food section as I am prone to reaching for a cream bun ( or six ) when I am under stress but this, as the author points out, just makes matters worse. Helpful and enjoyable!
